Grant Featherston - Aristoc Scape stool with steps
Grant Featherston designed the scape range of chairs and stools for Aristoc which included this very practical set of steps. I have previously posted about the dining chairs here and the stools here.

Be Seated - Mid Century furniture
The Danish Deluxe Inga arm chair was manufactured in Victoria in the 1960s. Danish Deluxe was a major Victorian furniture manufacturer from the 1950s to the 1980s. The company was formed by Neville Askanasy, John Westacott and Borg Gjorstvang.

Fringe Furniture - Threaded Out Table
Rowan Turnham exhibited his ‘Threaded Out Table’ at the 2012 Fringe Furniture Exhibition as part of The Melbourne Fringe Festival. Rowan is a graduate of RMIT Furniture and is currently in my Studio 2 class at Monash University industrial design.

Melbourne Movement - Grand Designs Live
Grand Designs Live has arrived in Melbourne and Melbourne Movement are proud to have been invited to exhibit local creative design talent.

Edward Linacre - Melbourne Movement
The James Dyson Award winner and Swinburne University industrial design alumnus Edward Linacre has joined Melbourne Movement and will exhibit at Grand Designs Live this weekend.
Edward will exhibit Weave pendant lamps.
'Weave Pendant Lamps' are the first of a series of lamps born through the amalgamation of traditional craft processes and modern CAD development techniques. Basket weaving was fused with computer surface-modelling to create a complex self supporting 3D woven structure that requires no glues or adhesives to hold its form. The lamps are constructed of 100% recycled timber veneers, reclaimed from the industrial waste bin of a local timber yard.

Melbourne Movement - Salone Satellite 2012
Melbourne Movement directors Kjell Grant, Gyunju Chyon and Ian Wong along with members Tate Anson, Dusko Lapcevic and Jasna Manolios recently reported to sponsors and outlined the success of Salone Satellite 2012.
Sponsors the City of Melbourne, RMIT University, Monash University and Sumo Visual provided generous financial and in kind support to ensure our talented designers are afforded the opportunity to present as Melbourne Movement at the world's premier furniture exhibition in Milan.
Shane McIlroy - International Advisor and Ben James - Business Coordinator from the City of Melbourne congratulated Melbourne Movement on the many outcomes from this years event and were delighted to see Federation Square feature in the exhibition stand design. Dean of Architecture and Design at RMIT University Professor Richard Blythe commended the initiative, commitment and vision of Kjell Grant and acknowledged the deep contribution Melbourne Movement makes to design internationally.

Tate Anson - SOYA
Melbourne Movement member and RMIT alumnus industrial designer Tate Anson has entered the Spirit of Youth Awards for 2012.
I would encourage all to support emerging talent and vote in the people's choice for these awards.
Driven by the potential for new technology to reinvent and reinvigorate traditional furniture making Tate is emerging as a design talent and winning this award would greatly support his career.
An amazing twelve month mentorship from Marc Newson is on offer.

Slow Seating - Milan Design Week
The exhibition Slow Seating - Contemporary Chinese Design was a highlight of the Tortona District of Milan Design Week recently. Beijing Design Week brought the exhibition to Milan which was curated by designer Zhu Xiaojie.

Adam Cornish - Salone Satellite 2012
Adam Cornish is an emerging Australian design talent but a veteran at Salone Satellite and Melbourne Movement so it was a pleasure to have his assistance in Milan and to see his willingness to support this year's designers.
