sensiLab - Monash University

sensiLab - Monash University

sensiLab is a response to the challenge of how to do innovative research in the internet age. Rather than targeting a single discipline or application area, the lab is based on the atelier model of an agile, collaborative workshop that inspires new ideas by making things. Built broadly around the intersection of visualisation, interaction and digital fabrication, sensiLab will serve as a networking hub, bringing together “anti-disciplinary teams” who work collectively to tackle challenging research problems that cannot be solved by a single discipline alone. Combining low-cost technologies with initiatives such as fablabs, maker spaces and hack labs, sensiLab aims to “build the future” by initiating change rather than just responding to it.
