Australian Education Forum - Shanghai China

On October 28th in Shanghai AustCham Greater China presented a highly informative afternoon of updates and discussion on the Australian education system hosted by Lee Henshaw, University of Queensland. With Monash poised to become only the third international university to become fully established in China and a new administration in Canberra to consider, Australia's strategy and standing as a national and international educator from primary to post-graduate was discussed.

Judi Maschmedt presented a DIAC update, Ian Wong presented on the recent Opening Ceremony for the Southeast University-Monash University Joint Graduate School and Joint Research Centre in Suzhou. Eliza Chu of Austrade provided a briefing on the Australian government's priorities and plans and James Hartshorn from Findoout.com presented the results of their research measuring Chinese perceptions of Australian education.
